Welcome to my personal academic website!

Originally from Remscheid (North-Rhine Westfalia, Germany), I decided to study Computational Linguistics and Spanish at Ruhr University Bochum. In my third semester in 2006, I started working at the Chair for Theoretical and Computational Linguistics.

During my bachelor studies, I applied for the Erasmus programme and spent a semester at UPF Barcelona which was a memorable experience.

Afterwards, I decided to continue my career in computational linguistics (M.A. 1 subject), because it seemed an exciting and beneficial subject, especially in the age of datafication.

At that time, I didn’t know that I would stay at this university for 18 years to do my doctorate and spend my postdoc time at Linguistic Data Science Lab teaching classes with a major focus on NLP and Deep Learning.

I am grateful for my education, my colleagues, exchange with students, and diverse experiences along the way. In summer 2024, I am on the job market looking for new opportunities.

I value spending time with my family and in nature, hiking, swimming, horse-back riding or dancing. At the same time, I cultivate creative passions such as music, painting and crafts.
